Dear All,
I want to know what is the purpose of two holes in oil groove of journal bearing. One bigger and one smaller. I am attaching photo for your kind reference. This journal bearing is used in boiler feed pump.

Dear All,
I want to know that during assembly of multistage centrifugal pump if we get axial float less than required in the manual. What is the solution. In our KSB make 9 stage centrifugal pump minimum float is 6mm to be maintained at every stage as per manual. But if we get float less than...

We encountering a problem of increase of 10-12 tonnes of steam load during heavy rains. I want to know how can we calculate heat loss of long pipeline. We are supplying 12kg/cm2 steam at 280 degree celcius. Pipeline size is 6" and of carbon steel and insulation we use is Light...
Dear all,
If i want to replace cs pipe schedule 80 pipe with stainless steel pipe say ss304 with fluid may be water or air or other non corrosive fluid. what schedule of ss pipe will be appropriate. What is basic difference betwen two apart from corrosion resistance property.
Thanks

Dear All
I want to ask question regarding to boiler feed pump journal bearing and bearing top cover interference. We use HDB 125/9 KSB make pump. it has 9 stages. In journal bearing at DE AND NDE side we keep interference of 0.06mm between bearing and bearing top cover. I just want to ask why...
Dear all
we have vertical cooling tower pump which is supported on bearing at top and impellers supported by hanging at bottom. How to check run out of shaft of this pump or it is not required to check run out of shaft of this vertical pump. If it is not required then why if run out to be...
Dear All
I want to know that why after dozing ammonia or morphiline at upstream of deaerator we doze trisodium phosphate in steam drum to increase PH . Whether PH of water comes down when water reaches boiler then how PH reduces?

Dear All
I want to know that why deaerator is pressurized. In my plant it is pressurized to 2.5 kg/cm2. what will happen if we pressurize it to 1.5 kg/cm2. Please give your inputs

Dear Sir
How increased boiler pressure leads to high flue gas temperature. I know it may be very easy question but i do not know the answer. Please guide me

Dear All
Recently an Interviewer asked me that if we inject steam in fuel gas line(Natural gas) of boiler then what will happen. Whether efficiency of boiler increase or decrease

Dear Sir
I have question in mind that why circular tubes used and not square or rectangular tubes for heat tranfer in boilers? Instead of no of circular tubes why no no of square or rectangular tubes for this purpose/

Dear All
Mine is chemical and fertilizer plant. We use Epoxy paint when there is dusty environment and CR paint where there is dust free environment. Why? IS EPoxy better for corrosion resistance than CR paint.? Please guide me

I am puzzled that if 40 KG/CM2 superheated steam flowing through pipeline and forming condensate and removing it by installing steam trap. If condensate at 40kg/cm2 is drained to atmospheric pressure then it should immediately convert into superheated steam but it does not occur...
I want to know that whether superheated steam can be treated as ideal gas. If yes then why pressure of steam not increases with temperature as by ideal gas equation pressure is directly proportional to temperature. I am talking of steam in superheater of boiler. Please guide me.

Dear All
My question may be very very simple and very silly but still I want to ask it. I want to know that why cold water is used for hydrotest and not hot water?
