Hi all,
I wanted to ask your opinions on the best practice to make a nest/setting jig for a part of irregular geometry.
I am currently tasked with this for a lot of parts but I am not sure what the most efficient way to go about this in NX is, two lines of thought currently are:
Extrude...
Wanted to produce this 'light shade' ornament thing.
I am a great novice at CAD, my steps to produce this were as follows:
Sketch circle
Offset
Create Datum/Plane above circle
Sketch Hexagon
Offset
Repeat for Upper Level
This is where I am stuck as to what the most efficient approach is...
Hi,
I am wondering if you can edge blend between two intersecting features. In the image attached you can see a sweeped handle against a surface. This is intended to 3D print but I cannot edge blend the point at which the handle intersects with the surface.
Is there anyway arround this...
I am wondering what the best process for matching the contours of a surface in order to produce a setting jig are. Something like a badge on a car door for example.
I was thinking:
- Create a plane perpendicular to the farthest point of the surface.
- Sketch on the plane. Extrude to...
I have been trying to find some formula to follow to calculate the frequency of a simply supported beam for some time and there are so many suggestions I am not sure what to follow.
I have a beam with 2 point loads, equidistant from the beam supports and, a uniform distributed load across the...
Hi there,
I am struggling with working out maximum deflection in a beam.
It has two point loads, at L/4 on each side and a distributed load at L/2.
I know max deflection for a distributed load but I am not sure how I calculate both at the same time.
Do I have to treat this problem as...
Hi there,
I am trying to model a simply supported beam with a central point load.
The beam has a lap joint and a adhesive layer bonding them together.
The beam is made from thin aluminium sheets. I tried importing from solidworks, I have three layers but I have no idea how to give the...
