Is this valid? I don't think it is valid since it's not a feature of size would replace it with a perpendicular with datum A or a flatness instead but I don't have enough experience with GD&T.
Is there a guideline or formula on the amount of center to center distance to reduce in order to remove a timing belt off of pulleys?
I'd normally do guess but there's has to be a better way to calculate this.
Trying to learn about gas springs and I'm not seeing how to get this angle for a gas spring angle to sum the moments at the hinge by the gas spring force.
No issue with it flat but say as an example ie. its is rotate at 10° then how is this angle calculated to sum the moments?
Would appreciate...
Is there something out there that can simulate frozen flesh or meat for cutting that is inorganic, something that doesn't stink or cause bacteria growth? Need to run it thru a deli meat slicer.
I was thinking about using foam sponges and freezing it into an ice block but was thinking there's...
I need to make an 8.00”x16.00”x2.70” ice block and need to control the ~9% expansion so that the ice block is a uniform as possible with a standard chest freezer. Using a stainless container as a mold with the top open and an Aluminum weight to hold it down, will make a silicone liner so that...
Does anyone know which table(s) to edit for hole wizard. ie. when Hole Wizard is picked with a counterbore I want the default to be a Socket Head Screw instead of the last one used or add a whole new style of holes.
I'm using DB Browser for SQLite and not sure which tables defines whole wizard...
Is Polycarbonate compatible with wax/paraffin oils and food coloring. I see some candle wax mold made of Polycarbonate that is sold but doesn't the aromatic oils and food colors degrade the Polycarbonate?
I would think it would cause stress fractures or something.
Anyone know what these are called, they're used for mounting plastic panels so the threads don't make contact with the plastic hole? It's basically shoulder screw with internal threads.
I'm hoping these are off the shelf parts.
I got question on what is happening to the moment and forces on a ball bearing carriage with a lever arm. Basically the carriage is at rest and is moving/accelerating up and there's a load of 1kg at the end of the lever 0.2m from the carriage.
If it was not moving, the moment about the carriage...
What's the simplest or best way to run a DC toy motor in 2 speeds (5-12V) with a couple of batteries. Nothing fancy just wanted to know the pros and cons, so far I have come up with these:
1. Gears (add complexity and needs more space)
2. Diodes/Resistors/Rheostat (maybe a diode but don't like...
I'v been told that a 3 point mount is better to reduce vibration but wanted to expand on how and why it's better. The mount is for a couple of 1/2HP pumps on a single baseplate with isolation mount points to reduce vibration.
The 2 pumps are similar are not the same model (1 for compressed air...
I don't know much about noise reduction, got any advise on reducing the noise on a 1/2HP compressor pump?
The pump weighs 20 pounds and mounted on 4 isolation mounts each rated at 35 pounds. I plan on make an enclosure with 1/4" noise insulation foam on all 6 sides with cut outs for the fan...
I'm trying to fix a hydraulic cylinder seal leak where the fluid has 1 entry/exit at 3,000psi and the other side open to atmosphere. There 2 U cup shaped seals (loaded with O-Ring) with a back to back configuration. I believe this creates a pressure trap and causes premature failure of the seals...
Anyone know of a company that makes a bottle either aluminum or stainless 0.6-1 liter that is rated up 100psi(6.9bar) of compressed air?
Everything out there is either rated with no pressure (standard cheap water bottles) or overkill at 1000+psi(69bar) (expensive scuba tanks or paintball...
Need some help with a coating to protect the iron of a BLDC stator and PCB boards. I've been getting issues with small BLDC motors with rust and electrical issues (open/shorts) on the stator and PCB hall sensors that are caused by autoclaving the motor. The motor is placed in 10 minute autoclave...
