I have two components connected by a cohesive layer (using cohesive elements). The cohesive layer is then fully degraded. I haven't changed anything regarding element deletion or contact between the two components. Is there any chance there can be penetration between the two components...

I modelled a contact cohesive interation between two components with a normal behaviour as well. When the damage reaches 1, is there penetration between the two components? As I didn't contrain them, I'm not sure if without the cohesive they penetrate each other.
