Can someone please answer the thread256-448758 as OP asked?

As for as I understand, OP in thread256-448758 was right that we shouldn't include the weight of soil above the footing if we check against net bearing capacity. However, everyone answered to include the weight of soil above footing which isn't exactly correct. Could someone please answer this...

Presumptive Value of Soil for Retaining Wall Design without Geotech Report

Per IBC 1806, we're allowed to presume the soil bearing capacity without a geotech report. However, Table 1806.2 only have value for bearing capacity and friction/cohesion for the 4 classes of soil. However, friction angle φ wasn't given, neither the soil unit weight. How do you guys get these...

Other than checking/QA/QC, how much hand calcs are you doing?

Other than super simple designs such as concrete beam(Mu/4d) and retaining walls level of simplicity. For more complicated stuff you studied in graduate program, did you actually use it? I feel like software will do everything for you. What do you think?

Is it possible to design slab(top bars) with just column(and wall) moment reaction?

Assuming I have all the reactions at the supports, is it possible to design the reinforcement for the column? As far as I know, we need reinforcement for column strips and middle strips. I don't have the load information.

[RAM Concept API] All reactions to walls and loads for all load combos are 0. Anybody has any ideas?

I just gave RAM Concept API a try and I think I'm really close. I used the code from documentation to get the columns and walls reactions. Got every supports and compo results printed. However, the results are all 0s. Anybody has any clue? Thank you!

How to determine load path in concrete 2-way flat plate?

I'm not talking about simple buildings with typical bays. I was wondering how to get the correct load path for slab with columns placed in very random locations, no pattern. Any resources/helps would be appreciated!
