In SolidWorks CAE, what's the difference between remote mass and direct external force applied?
What are some use cases for these techniques?
For example in this tutorial by SolidWorks, why can't we divide the engine by 2 and add the force to the area of contact?

I am currently performing FEA analysis on a weldment. I filleted all the sharp edges yet my solution is not converging - the stress keeps fluctuating and maximum displacement keeps increasing. How do I get a converged solution?
