Tolerances for coated metric screw threads.

Can anyone direct me to the location of the relevant ISO standards for the tolerances applied to metric screw threads that are to be coated. Coating thickness can range from 15-31 microns per coated surface. We have two situations:- 1. Coating is applied to the screw only. 2. Coating is to be...

    Metal pipe stiffness.

Could anyone inform me how to calculate the pipe bending stiffness and pipe hoop stiffness for metallic pipes. I have found formula's for the above but the reference material I have suggests that these formula's are for non-metallic pipes. Please help.

Compressive force transmission through a rubber section.

Dear all, could anybody give me a clue on how to calculate what percentage of force is transmitted through a rubber section as a result of compression? Please help, I have spoken to many people who could not shed any light on this apart from it will transmitt a force.

Calculation of pressure in a pipeline derived from volume flow rate.

Is it possible to derive the pressure of air flowing through a pipeline from the volume flow rate and the diameter of the pipe. For instance pipe I.D. = 150mm and volume flow rate = 0.3m³/sec. I have looked at Bernoulli's eqn and the continuity eqn and hence come to the conclusion that the...
