I have a heavy duty door, lets say 40kN. I have to design a stopper to qualify the door for design basis earthquake. Now, lets say I use the floor response spectrum, and it is acceleration of 1 g.

I am a little confused about the different load combinations to check for a gerber system. Is the load combination LL+DL whole length, DL whole length +1/2LL on cantilever and DL whole length +1/2LL middle?
Why 1/2LL? Obviously LL+DL whole length would govern.

I am mounting multiple panels onto unistruts, all panels have different sizes. How are they usually mounted? Bolted at any spots or they have hooks at the edges?
I am not sure if Angles can take moment, and therefore
act as beams.
But I have seen angles used as a holder for windows or studs.
Can angles take uniform load (moment) then?
