    MCB ratings

im doing an inspection scotty,i thought 10A MCB would be suffice.the light switches are rated at 10A,so im thinkin about overcurrent protection to protect these?(highly unlikely due to little load tho)

    MCB ratings

lighting circuits on a remote camp site are wired in 2.5mm and protected by 16A MCB's.is this correctly rated? some circuits only have 1 or 2 lights on it

earth bed in a desert location

yes,the rods can only go down as far as 1m before hitting virgin rock,i have installed one rod and added salt and water, left it for a day and the reading is 50ohms.in process of adding more and see the difference.thinking best way forward may be to install earth mat/mesh with multiple rods,and...

earth bed in a desert location

i have to install an earth bed in a desert site, earth spikes only go down roughly a metre in depth.the client wants soil resistance to electrode reading of 4 ohms or less.tips for getting readings down to this without bentonite or anything similar?

    soil resistivity readings

measured reading taken from earth rod to soil, using soil resistance meter(fluke 1623).1st probe placed into soil 20mts from earth rod,2nd probe a further 20 mts.soil was dry also..

    soil resistivity readings

im in adesert location, the on site personnel took soil resistance reading, it came back 18.3 ohms.i thought this was acceptable(below 21ohms).client wants 4ohms max.we have no bentonite,i suggest creating earth bed(soil only 1mt deep before hitting rock).daily watering and linking out earth...

    VSD Transformer output voltage

cheers guys,it was a ex colleague who asked me if i had a clue.my first thought was faulty transformer because of the readings.and its a brand new genny too.ill keep ya posted on the outcome, again thanks

    VSD Transformer output voltage

400v supply coming from generator to VSD transformer.output voltage is 230v and a reading of 374v was recorded.the client says this is due to 600v being supplied from 400v generator(which has 110% cut off).what is causing the abnormal voltage at VSD?transformer windings maybe?
