Beyond what is the last fashion trend in how a user interface must look to be considered modern, please keep the classical black and grey. It is the most comfortable for the eyes.

It happened to me and some coworkers a few times in NX 9.
Before we used NX 8 and 7.5 and we never saw this.
If I remember well, and as a workaround, instead of "move" I used "assembly constraint" dialog to drag and reposition the component.
As I can see it, the only difference with NX 9 is a new extra large size icon without text.
I use both, a small laptop and most of the time a huge 30" monitor.
The tiny size icons lack awareness in both screens, and using them with text defeat the iconography purpose.
The medium size is the...
Looking at the NX 10 screenshots there is no difference with the NX 9 interface.
I was under the impression that extra icon sizes would be available. To fit better in the ribbon and address the issue of medium size icons and wasted space, versus, tiny icons.
I hope I am wrong, otherwise it will...
Last week I came in contact with NX 9 for first time.
It feels refreshing and polished, but after a few hours trying to customize it, a mayor shortcoming is evident.
The small icons are too small and the next size is only allowed with text, wasting a lot of space.
An intermediate icon size like...
By the way, in our case we can't contact GTAC at will, because we are only allowed to "upset" the management when the nature of the problem is critical or unsolvable.
Hi sam5a1.
And yes, Deformable Parts show odd behavior in NX 8.5
We don't use the sheet metal application, however many times perfectly restrained already deformed parts, suddenly jumps in space when we tried to change the value of deformation.
As a workaround we switched to Reference Sets.
It looks a lot better in the current black and gray.
The future one looks like Creo, insipid and not inspiring.
Perhaps keeping the neutral grey as background of the icons, but with a tiny bit of turquoise to obtain the desired contrast would be more pleasant.
I agree about the NX's functionality had outgrown the current interface.
Also, the J. R. Baker's clarifications and reasons had been very useful.
Beyond that this interface looks awesome, exist the necessity (IMHO) to put some "personal" order among so many icons. And the use of tabs (ribbon)...
I thought at first that the user would have complete control over customization.
But not being able to fully customize the interface like SW is disappointing.
Now I'm wondering... [ponder]
If I have only limited control about how much space some icons occupy and its spatial position and...
When I started reading this thread I thought, - This is a catastrophe! Siemens is porting the Solid Edge interface to NX!
But after seeing the screenshots I must say, that is refreshing and awesome. [thumbsup2]
Thanks John R. Baker.
