Qualification test for ultrasonic testing operator

So you mean there are no such standards, procedures or code, explaining the way of qualifying an Ultrasonic Testing Operator?

Qualification test for ultrasonic testing operator

Hi dear friends, For some reasons, we ,as the employer, have decided to requalify all the UT operators who have been accepted by both contractor and third part authority. We intend to use some test pieces (in the form of pipe, not plate) which are welded by an experienced welder and we...

Sand pad electrical resistivity in cathodic protection

Hi! I'm working in a project that believes the resistivity of sand used for sand pad must be 250 to 500 ohm.m for cathodic protection of existing tanks and piping. I need to know which standard mention the electrical resistivity required for cathodic protection of these items? NACE? API? ASTM...

    Solidification Cracking

I've seen a formula about reheat cracking: ΔG =Cr+3.3Mo+8.1V and it was mentioned if ΔG<0 then the suceptibility to this cracking is low!! while ΔG can not be less than zero!!! I need to know what is the proper formula if there is. Thank you.

    Solidification Cracking

Thanks Metengr, I know about reheat cracking but I mean growing, not occuring. Do you mean that the Solidification Cracking doesn't grow after PWHT and PWHT has no effect on the Solidification Cracking?

    Solidification Cracking

How does the Solidification Cracking grow after Post-Weld Heat Treatment? May it grow after PWHT? Upto what thickness may it grow?? Thanks.

    Cracking after PWHT

Thank you very very much for your useful answer. It's my honor to ask you and see your answer.

    Cracking after PWHT

What do you mean by delayed cracking from embrittlement? Do you mean Hydrogen Cracking? It was about Hydrogen cracking everywhere I searched. I didn't find it after PWHT, just after welding. I'm so confused. Please excuse me for my questions.

    Cracking after PWHT

The other thread was about Solidification Cracking!! Not Crackings after PWHT. I think I mustn't ask two different questions in one thread. Anyway thank you for your help. And another question, do these two type only occur? Special thanks to you metengr for your consideration. Thank you.

    Cracking after PWHT

Hi. I want to know what types of Cracking can occur after PWHT, and how size each type of cracking can grow? Thank you for your consideration.

    Solidification Cracking

Thank you, and don't you have any idea about Solidification Cracking after PWHT? Does it take place after PWHT? Thank you in advance.

    Solidification Cracking

Sorry, May I ask another question? 1) How long does the Solidification Cracking take to appear after the welding? 2) To what thickness the Solidification Cracking occures after PWHT? Sorry for bad English grammer. Thanks.

    Solidification Cracking

I searched and found the answer before you reply, anyway thank you metengr.

    Solidification Cracking

Hi everyone. My QC Manager wanted me to search for Solidification Cracking and find out when the Solidification Cracking takes place (when W/D < 0.7 or W/D < 1)? And what are the Parameters W and D? Thank you for your help.

    Pipeline & Piping

Dear MiketheEngineer, I think your first reply is the correct answer(I guess), because I asked this question from someone else before and he replied the same. Another reason is that these two words are used together in ASME sec. IX, but not in the same definition. I don't remember the sentence...
