    I found out what was wrong. When draftsight can't fit the drawing to the size you specify, it will scale the drawing to fit the size.     Most of those videos don't run. The getting-started-guide may have the answer but a quick search has only produced the polyline command which seems to allow an angle only if you are drawing an arc.
