The distorted "Parallel Curve" controlled by Law?

I have got a feature of "Parallel Curve" of R17 version and I added it directly to the R21 part by copy 'n' paste, then I changed its law and input curve (with upgrading it) like what I did to the one of R21 version, the result turned out unbelievable perfect! Why did Dassault changed the...

The distorted "Parallel Curve" controlled by Law?

I will upload the part Monday since its on company's desktop. The part was created by R21SP3, a pretty new release, is there any chance for you to check it? btw: May I know how to insert images in the post, anything wrong about this format: ?

The distorted "Parallel Curve" controlled by Law?

The Law definition, whose reference is the y axis: The curve before(the brown one) and after the "parallel curve with law" operation: Zoom in on a little portion of the paralleled curve: ( you can see the distorted fillets ) I will appreciate any explanations you could give!

How to smooth the surface's boundary?

    It's Great! Many Thanks! :)

How to smooth the surface's boundary?

My question is: How to smooth the surface's boundary via erasing its vertices without making any obvious changes to the surface's original construction? By following its curvature to extrapolate the surface then drawing smooth curve to split it? TIA!

How does CATIA determine the "mean plane" ?

The scenario is when a profile is swept along with a 3d spline using the subtype of "With reference surface" that isn't specified explicitly, so the "Default(mean plane)" is computed instead. I wonder by which methods this mean plane is constructed, is it the mean plane of all points using to...

What's the difference b/w the two cases illustrated inside

Thanks guys for responses, I will later dig more diligently.

May someone could offer a good explanation about "check manifold"

Based on the descriptions above, more than three different curves sharing one end-point and more than three different surfaces sharing one edge are both non-manifold conditions I believe. and I also think it's the reason why CATIA call it "check manifold" rather than "check non-manifold".

What's the difference b/w the two cases illustrated inside

From the example given above, the Geometry difference may be noticeably too small to spot out. So could anyone magnify the difference visually by presenting another instance?

In the Extrapolate Definition dialog of the GSD workbench: Case 1: Tangent + Const dist opt Case 2: Curvature TIA

May someone could offer a good explanation about "check manifold"

Thanks guys for help me reach a basic understanding about this, the only thing left is to practice I believe. BTW, this forum really gathered a lot of professionals here, that's great!
