Your best option is to use datum planes and mate those. You should have a horizontal plane in the center of the reel... use an offset mate to one of the horizontal surfaces on the base and you should be good to go.

Found it. The templates folder was defined in config.sup. I deleted it and set it in config.pro! You guys are life savers.
