I am trying to calculate the radial force that a garter spring makes on a shaft.
Could anyone give some information about how to design a garter spring, or how to calculate the radial force?
I have been seaerching but didnt find anything so far..

Yes I think the i should assume no friction to simplify. But are you sure the radial for would be 2T/D and not 2T/(Pi*r)?
