    Flow Rate Problem

Artisi, agreed …..but in this case the level in tank 1 will drop faster i.e. the head will decreases faster . hence, the flow rate will decreases with time. It’s a dynamic system ! We may end up empting the two tanks at the same time. !!

    Flow Rate Problem

katmar,BigInch-thank you. No, it wasn't a homework. it was a discussion at work. the argument maily was the "head", some say's that in both tanks it shold be 10 m !!!?

    Flow Rate Problem

I had a long argument on this with my friends( Eng's) therefore, I decided to post it here to get your opinion: Two Tanks have the same capacity and are at the same height. They are at 10m elevation. Both are open to atmosphere. They contain water. From each an 8” pipe comes down the tank to...

    fugitive emissions

Hi, manly there are 3 mothods: Method 1: Average (Default) Emissions Factor Method; Method 2: Correlation Equation Method; and, Method 3: Screening Value Range Method. if you use google you will find intresting things.

    Double block and bleed valve

Zdas04, It’s seems that we are not in the same page, I’m talking about the design not the work . I’m designing a caustic dosing system, do I need to provide DBB for the pump ( head=70ft).

    Double block and bleed valve

Thanks Zdas04 for the replay, I gone through attached doc. But still not clear to me what determining the need for DBB. Is the pressure or the fluid type.

    Double block and bleed valve

I have question : when is the double block and bleed valve is must or required, what is the reference API, OSHA ..etc? I know that for more than 10 bar it’s required but what about corrosive chemical handling for less than 10 Bar is it required a double block and bleed valve?

    ESD

Thanks to all. But the bypass valve should be a manual isolation valve or another ESD i.e. we will have two ESD's in parallel !!

    ESD

Hi all, I got an engineering request to study the possibility to build a bypass around an ESD valve for maintenance purpose. Is it acceptable? I haven’t seen a bypass around ESD ! what is API or ASME reference in this case. ?
