Ok, so everybody else having this problem: It is a bug in the 11.0.1 version of FEMAP. Checking the beam cross section stress control in v.11.0 and v.11.1 works without this problem.
Hello,
I have a problem with beam cross section stress control when selecting beam elements of created hole to hole fasteners. This had worked before, but for some reasons it is not working now. Is there any settings that must be ON in order to obtain stresses of beam elements. I probably made...
I want to make a separation of stresses through a section into constant membrane and linear bending stresses. I want to specify the section as a path through my model, and I want FEMAP to display the linearized stresses in the form of an X–Y plot. I have attached an example plot from ANSYS. How...
Hi,
I am trying to make a stress linearization in FEMAP with NX Nastran v11.0.1.
Is there a tool in FEMAP for that like in ANSYS and ABAQUS?
Thanx in advance
Hello Blas,
I run the same version as you so there is no problems [smile]
I just meant that I didn't see that FEMAP generates the functions automatically. I can see that now so there is no more problems. Thank you
Best regards
Hello,
I am trying to find a way to extract the mass participation factor from the Normal Modes/Eigenvalue Analysis for different natural frequencies. I receive 10 modes with frequencies and I need to see if the first frequency is dominating by checking if the mass participation is minimum 90...
Hi compositecurves,
First check what version of Windows 8 you are running... If you are running Windows 8 32-bit than you must install FEMAP v.11 32-BIT version. If your Windows 8 is 64 BIT than it doesn't matter, you should be able to install both 32- and 64-BIT version of FEMAP.
Best regards
Thanx BlasMolero,
I have tried that value but it doesn't change anything. The values are the same. The model is not overconstraint, it is only constraint on two smal plate parts which symbolize a connection plates for swivel castors (Frame construction with four castors).
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to understand where the problem is in my model because of the result I receive.
1. First I apply thermal load 10 to 100 Celsius on my model in order to see the thermal distrubution with steady-state heat transfer analysis.
2. Second analysis is linear static analysis...
Hi all,
I have a question about the pressure load in FEMAP.
If you have pipe with 90 degrees bend at some areas, the force will be greater on one section which produces high bending stresses at pipe connection parts. The model can be seen in this thread: Link
Do you have any tips how I can...
Hi,
According to NX Nastran manual and BlasMolero here on this forum, glued surface to surface or edge to surface connection should work.
Glue is a simple and effective method to join meshes which are dissimilar. It correctly transfers displacement and loads resulting in a an accurate strain...
Dear Blas,
I was talking to one calculation engineer that works with ANSYS and he told me that it seems that there are unbalanced forces in my model. If I choose not to have pressure load on the last section of pipe bending the stress is reduced to 130 MPa instead of 466 MPa. See my pictures...
Hi Blas Molero,
Thanx you so much for taking the time to help me out here. I saw that the material properties for beams was incorrect... simple fault because of fast modelling. Anyway, that doesn't change anything even if I adjust to correct units. If you think about another way; the pipe is...
Dear BlasMolero,
Thank you for the tips, but that doesn't seem to help. The stresses are still the same. Because of that, I've tried the second suggestion you had. I made a new model with additional beams just to have as solid elements. The clamps are now as plate element as the pipe with the...
For everyone else having the same problem, do like this (this is applied to the model I've attached):
Project the surface of the solid element to the shell element a remesh. Choose Custom Tools -> Spider Surfaces and choose all surface that you want to connect to the RBE2. Finally, choose...
I'd like to join in the exact way you decribe it but I don't know how to do that. I have tried following:
1. New projected surfaces from clamps onto pipe with command Geometry -> Curve from surface -> Project
2. Re-mashed the pipe
3. Instead of glued connection between the pipe and clamps I...
