Hi IRstuff,
Thats what i want to know, if that large pressure drop indicates a high flow of my chilled water into the cooling coil. We try to throttle the return valve of chilled water and inlet/outlet pressure begins to rise, from this throttling, do my flow rate increase versus from fully...
Hi littleinch
Sorry, i will re-phrase my data
Data is this
Distribution pump capacity is 120m3/h and head of 85m and with a distribution pipe of 100mm
Chilled Water Pressure/Temperature in distribution pump is 9barg abd 3degC respectively
The two air handling unit has chilled water...
Hi willard3,
I know that pressure and flow are related, and i know that flow and heat transfer are related. What I want to validate is why there is a large pressure drop between distribution pump and cooling coil of AHU? is this possible because pressure is dropped from 9barg to 1.5barg...
Good day,
Im having a problem on a chilled water distribution line going to a air handling unit cooling coil.
Data is this
Distribution pump capacity is 120m3/h and head of 85m and with a distribution pipe of 100mm
Chilled Water Pressure/Temperature in distribution pump is 9barg abd 3degC...
Hydrotest pressure settings vary depends on countrys local code. What you say about 1.5 x MAWP is the minimum setting for hydrotest in new boilers. Here in our country, for mechanical inspection or statutory inspection (renewal of permit)of boiler, we use 1.2 x MAWP, for new and altered...
Hi metenger,
So 17,500 psi is okay to used. Other info is that they assumed that material used for pressure vessel is SA 36 since no data is available. Is this correct?
Thanks,
Dear all,
we have a problem regarding on computation for thickness/MAWP for unfired pressure vessel. Our 3rd party inspector used stess value of 12,700 psi last 2011 inspection. but on their 2012 inspection, they used 17,500 psi for stress. Material for pressure vessel is Steel A36,. Thanks for...
No, you can just leave the refrigerant on the chiller. Just make sure that you slowly fill the chiller with new water so that it will not cause sudden refrigerant expansion.

Hi Latexman,
We already have a plan for increasing the distribution pipe, the problem is the budget proposed for this will be approved next year. So, the management request us to see alternatives to increase supply pressure to production this year. We also convert distribution pipe to loop. But...
Dear Colleagues,
I'm currently working in a food manufacturing company. We are having a problem in water supply pressure to our production lines. The scenario is this, on the 1st half of 2012, the design of water distribution pipe was:
Distribution Pipe: 3 1/2" dia (Note: this is process water...
I have a project for a process equipment which is using direct steam injection (motorized valve use to inject steam to water supply pipe) to produce hot water. I will convert it to indirect type using plate heat exchanger and steam as heating medium to produce hot water. Is my project will...
