Editing multiple parts and drafts simultaniously using property manager

By now I've found the answer to my own question. This is kind of a backdoor but I find it quite helpfull. To edit the properties in the property manager whilst using teamcenter you can do the following: *Get the documents you want to edit in your local cache (Opening them will do that) *Have...

    Did it help?

Editing multiple parts and drafts simultaniously using property manager

I know what to use, just haven't figured out how yet ;) Allthough your solution sounds great this only works for documents that are on my computer. I'm affraid it doesn't work for the documents in the Teamcenter database. Somehow (allthough I am logged in into teamceter) Solid Edge seems to...

Editing multiple parts and drafts simultaniously using property manager

Hello, I'm wondering if there is a (quick) way to edit multiple parts and drafts simultaniously in the property manager? Opening all seperate files to define the properties seems quite timeconsuming. FYI: I'm using ST3 icw Teamcenter Express v5.3

Best program for calculations in mechanical engineering

@Johnbridge231: Do you have any experience with mathematica? I'd like to know how it works from a user perspective. @Stanier: Is MCP3 still heavy on the mouse usage? I'll look into that TK Solver you referred to, that program is new to me.

    What version to use?

Most people that asked something like: "will prime 3 have blablabla feature" on the blog, got a very politicly correct response that came down to: "no not in this version". At least they are being honest about it. I'm running a trial version of MC15 now and when I try to open files from 2001i...

Best program for calculations in mechanical engineering

That sounds great, I'll give express a try! I'm testing evaluation versions of both maple 16 and MC15. Although Mathcad works quite well Maple seems to be able to meet all of my requirements with the greatest ease. It just works so much more intuitively than mathcad.

Best program for calculations in mechanical engineering

@monkeydog: I have to admit that I submitted that last post before previewing it. I still need to get used to these forums and its disability to edit posts after submission. Pardon the slag ;)

    What version to use?

@IRstuff: Basic calculations for me lies somewhere in between. I know we don't need the full power of the program, but it should be more than a scientific calculator. Most of the calculations we do don't require any integration or deriviation, but they tend to get quite large. Most engineers...

Best program for calculations in mechanical engineering

whoops, didn't try searching it because someone (that works with maple on a daily basis) had specificly told me maple wouldn't be able to do This. Anyway thnx for your input! Maple deffinately seems to be a good alternative now. Since I'm not a native speaker I'd appreciate feedback on my...

    What version to use?

Hello all, For the company I work for I'm looking for a program for basic engineering calculations. The main thread where I ask what program would be best suited for the job can be found here. Since the reply's I got in the main thread are quite general and I'd like some mathcad secific...

Best program for calculations in mechanical engineering

That´s probably because of my lack of experience with technical English though. Since I'm not a native speaker I'd appreciate feedback on my (British) English

Best program for calculations in mechanical engineering

What I mean is that when the input is: 1N/1mm^2 the output would have to be: 1*10^6Pa or 1MPa or at least: 1N/mm^2 From the information you´ve given me I can´t really tell if maple allows me to calculate with units. Since I'm not a native speaker I'd appreciate feedback on my (British) English

Best program for calculations in mechanical engineering

Thnx for the quick responses guys! @JohnBaker: Maple doesn't work with units right? @ the rest: I'll check out your suggestions, some sound very promising :) Since I'm not a native speaker I'd appreciate feedback on my (British) English

Best program for calculations in mechanical engineering

Hi all, The company I work for only uses excell to do calculations. For most simple calculations Excel works fine and for calculations that have to be repeated a lot of times Excel works great once you really get to know all it's possibilitys. As a mechanical engineer, having to name units in...
