I run the simulation on my computer and it seems to be finish without a problem. At each increment, the total iteration is 1 and no severe discontinuity, which i believe indicate no convergence issues.
Am i missing something here?

What i meant earlier is that the file run without any errors, because it sounded like you had problem getting it to run.
I run it today and yes it seem to stop after a certain frame. it is because the time step was small and the rigid part does not reach the golf ball, and time...

Sometimes, you can ignore the warning messages but just be aware of them.

To my understanding from reading Abaqus manual about connecting the tie constre aint is that:
If the mesh is the same as the parts and the cohesive elements, use the node tie constraint.
If the the mesh is different ( finer for the cohesive element), surface tie constraint is to be used.

I managed to solve it :)...the problem was resulting from the partition on the cohesive element not being selected when I defined the surface tie constraint.

I have used conventional shell (2D) and didn't encounter any problem as I previously did.

For Pluck failure criterion I used QUADSCRT similar to that I used for cohesive layer, but no results are obtained indicating any matrix crack....am i inputting in the wrong place? there are not much option available apart from MAXSCRT and QUADSCRT.
