Laying of CS pipe in Concrete

Dear All, We have laid 1" CS Sch 40 pipe for transporting engine oil at a depth of 50 cm. The pipe was wrapped with tape and was then buried. The pipe developed corrosion within a year and now we have to replace it. Now we are planning to pour concrete in the trench then lay the pipe wrapped...

    Pump Head Calculation

Hello All, i have read in many articles that the head of a centrifugal pump is equal to the difference of discharge and suction pressure. if so, how can we calculate the hesd for submersible pumps which are also of centrifugal type? Thanks in advance.

    Supporting of Pipe

Dear all Thanks for the feedback. I don't have any other points to support the pipe. The only option is to use the purlin in the roof. I have come across Gripple support system which uses cables to support the pipe. U can find more info at www.gripple.com. But not sure how effective it...

    Pressure Testing of PVC Pipe

Hi All, Thanks very much for the response. We have decided to install isolation valves at an interval of 500 mtr and then test the pipe. The working pressure is 10 bar and will be tested at 15 bar.

Location of Strainer and its orientation

Hi, Thank you all for the replies. Yes the pump is drawing from the bottom of the pool and we have put a screen cover over the pool (OASE suction fitting). Now it is not possible to modify the suction line as it is already casted in the concrete. I have found some TORO filters and planning...

Location of Strainer and its orientation

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Yes the discharge line is vertical and is of 3" size. You suggested to install the "Y" strainer backwards. Isn't direction of flow important for "Y" strainer?

Location of Strainer and its orientation

Dear All, We have recently installed a Lowara pump for feeding the fountain nozzles in an outdoor application. But due to space constraint, were unable to install a strainer in the pump suction line. As the fountain is located outdoors, we are continuously facing the problem of nozzles...

    Pump Suction Piping

Dear All, I need to install a pump having a suction size of 3". The suction is taken from a tank and because of lack of space, it is not possible to install a 3" line. So we are thinking to install 2 numbers of 2" pipe and connect them to a 3" tee and then connect to the pump. Is it feasible...
