    3ph motor rotation

Thanks for the replies. I appologise if I do not clearly point out my question. The question is wheter the "thumb rule" I refer to is valid or not? The package, with the motor on it, is to be shipped away to another loaction, so the issue is just to avoid swapping of cores later...

    3ph motor rotation

I've always used the thumb rule saying that if a 3ph motor is connected in the basic sequence, ie R-S-T/L1-L2-L3, on the motor terminals starting from the left, the motor will always rotate clockwise when look in to the shaft end. I've bumbed in to some motors which apparently doesnt...

    Multiple start-stop stations

Either use 3 wire and remove jumpers indicated above, or run a 4 wire system and latch at starter end, or locally through junction boxe(s). As far as the discussion re: safety goes: Local E-stops main purpose is to stop a motor in an advert situation. When planned work, maintenance etc shall...

    Zink plating of hose fittings

Fellow members: Im currently engaged in following up the fabrication and installation of 2 diesel hydraulic cranes. The Vendor is using hoses in parts of his hydraulic system. The cranes shall be installed offshore in a saline environment, and part of the hydraulic installations are outside fo...

    maximum length between draw pits

I've would have approached this issue a bit differently. Check maximum tension which can be applied to the various cable types(given in cable manufacturer's data sheet) in question, hold this up to any data for any pulling winches etc. Also the use of middle "pushers" on the cable...

MIL-STD-461D, How do you maintain EMC w/cabinet open?

It's an interesting point you make, and I've never heard of it being adressed earlier. I work in the oil & gas industry, ie offshore platforms and gas treatment plants, and EMC design is often adapted. I do not have any suggestion, but here is a little Java applet which I belive adress your...
