Calculate cfm capacity for a duct fan

My apologies Little. Its always Hz. Yes, I have heard that the lower temp/higher density of air will fault the drive. You are correct, the inlet pressure to the fan varies based on the product we run. I just asked DURR to give me the fan curve using my 150hp motor at the static pressure they...

Calculate cfm capacity for a duct fan

Thanks Ag. The vote of confidence definitely helps. I'll let you know.

Calculate cfm capacity for a duct fan

Working on it Ag. Thank you sir. He told me yesterday he can give me all the curves I want, but they need a static pressure on the inlet of the fan. I have cfm going to the fan and amps at certain Hz, but no pressure where they need it.

Calculate cfm capacity for a duct fan

Good morning LittleInch sir, My apologies for not getting back sooner as I saw your reply over the weekend, but didn't want to try to digest looking at my phone. We had a team mate here at work with a family emergency and our schedules all have been turned upside down. I am just now getting...

Calculate cfm capacity for a duct fan

LittleInch; 1. Yes this fan in question is the one on the exhaust of the RTO. Yes the inlet temp at the RTO exhaust fan is 224F. I understand 400F being a less dense air volume than 224F. But I do not understand how/why you say this "This makes a lot of difference to air density which is...

Calculate cfm capacity for a duct fan

Here is the screen shot of my white board. Green is air flow direction. Purple SP is sample port of the approximate location of my pitot tube readings. Air temp at the SP4 is 100F. Temp at the very inlet of the main RTO exhaust fan outside is 224F. Thats basically the air thats coming out...

Calculate cfm capacity for a duct fan

Okay little inch. Thank you for your work. I have a screen shot of a whiteboard that I have a sketch on. I also have temps and flows for each pipe. Let me put something together. Give me a few please.

Calculate cfm capacity for a duct fan

I have the rpm of the fan at load from a ratio calculation and sheaves based on the print. At 30Hz, mtr is spinning at 895 rpm ish and the fan is at 1173 rpm. I have measured all air velocities/cfm of all trunks contributing to the main 36" diameter trunk. I have also measured the cfm through...

Calculate cfm capacity for a duct fan

Here is the fan curve. for some reason, probably me, I could not attach more than one file.https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=d7f1d36f-020c-4445-965f-43192b38ebce&file=B00961_-_Curve.docx

Calculate cfm capacity for a duct fan

My apologies. RTO is Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer. We use it to burn off volatiles in our exhaust/process stream so we can vent to atmosphere. I have attached the fan curve as well as the print for the fan. The current motor is at 150hp and runs at 1790 rpm at 60Hz. Full load amps is 175...

Calculate cfm capacity for a duct fan

Good morning, I have been tasked with exhausting more cfm (adding new equipment) to an already installed industrial exhaust fan that is going to an RTO here at our plant. I have been told that the capacity of the fan is 15000 ACFM. As I try to eliminate hoods and other not necessary air...

Mold program to 3D model. How?

Between my company and the molder we have the origimal 3D mode Can I creat a 3D model via stwp, or ides, or something to generate a model? Or could I use the current mold moldels to creat a part with boolean operations? Thanks Sid

Volume vs velocity with an air manifold

Little Inch, this is good stuff. If you care, I'll give you more about exactly what I'm working on. I have an issue with a dust collector I need to tend to right now. I'll come back and share more. Thank you so much for your reply and ear. Sid

Volume vs velocity with an air manifold

Thank you guys for your help. The velocity measuring tool I am using is an anemometer from Omega, handheld. It is flexible tubing I am measuring on the 5 ports for my fpm. I am also measuring right at the output of my blower which is a larger radius. I am already seeing a discrepancy due to...

Volume vs velocity with an air manifold

Afternoon all, Forgetting friction and air leaks. Theoretically, if I have an air manifold that has one input port(2") and five output ports(1"), if I put say 500 cfm into the input port, I know my velocity will be higher on the outputs due to smaller diameter, but will I divide the input...

Stainless steel piping corrosion due to chlorides

Good morning all, Just wanted to give an update as to the progress of my piping project. Thank you to MJCronin, I started with his company link of Perma-pipe out of Houston I believe. They were very helpful in looking into my requirements including sds and spec. sheets of my materials. In...

Evidently not Ironic. But you got me. It was early and hadn't had my coffee yet. I cannot even blame my large fingers this time as the T isn't even close to the K on the keyboard. Good day to you all nevertheless.

Stainless steel piping corrosion due to chlorides

MJCronin, thank you sir. I am speaking with Perma-Pipe already. Awesome solutions, thank you again. ....and for you my dear "Ironic". Tasked, tasked, tasked, tasked. I'm running with scissors. Soap box much? Have a great day all. Sid

Stainless steel piping corrosion due to chlorides

Good morning all, I have been tasked with creating a containment system for our piping run that transports Quilon C (Release agent) in solution of IPA from a large storage tank outside to inside the plant. The 1" piping is currently a chemical grade polypropylene over an approximately a 150yd...
