If you would like to receive help you need to provide enough info so someone CAN help you. Nobody reading your request for help has any idea what kind of laser or resonator you are having problems with, so it would be impossible to offer any meaningful advice. Remember, just because you are...
vladz21,
I have a software package that will be less expensive than what you are currently looking at and will do a nice job for you. You can call me, Sam at: 704-460-3506.
Does anyone have experience cutting 4150 steel plate on a CO2 laser? I have a customer with 3 & 4Kw CO2 lasers that needs to quote a job from 8.5 mm (aprox 5/16 thick) plate. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
jjl1210. Respectfully, it looks like you have an error in the cut condition you posted. The only focal position used by Amada lasers (assuming the laser has NC focus) is on cut condition line 1. The condition you posted shows -0.051 inch which is way to high. I recommend that once you find what...
Did you receive my email? See attached for info. Call me or email.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=3ba22e2d-4622-4e50-a9e0-efdc931d772f&file=contact.pdf
I was the 1st applications engineer hired by LVD in North America so I am prejudiced, but both could be good machines. You also have Chris Krug who is a member here and is an expert with the Bystronics. As you mentioned, the Fanuc system is very reliable, but at that age of equipment, your...
Another (BIG) thing to consider is that there is always product loss due to pressure building up as the liquid changes to gas. It will be worse in the summer with the temperature elevation. Another cost factor is how often you receive deliveries of N2. Have you ever watched and listened while...
"i believe that I'm using aluminum P1020, do you think this change everything? and I'm only trying it on 1mm"
YES! This does change everything. P1020 is basicly pure aluminum and will always give you problems. It looks to be the american equivalent of 1100. It is not like an alloyed 5052 or...
In the cut conditions you posted it shows an initial frequency for piercing of zero. Zero is not a valid value for frequency so I don't know exactly what that will do, but that needs to be corrected to start with. Since the duty cycle it set to 100% the frequency is not that important, but does...
GrouperGenius, What laser are you programming? I use a program, CAM2000s, that is easy to use and feature rich like drag n drop file import (dxf/dwg) and includes autonest. The support is top notch as well.
How much Z axis travel do you have? If you have enough Z travel you could cut sacrificial cutting grates from plexi to lift the material high enough to prevent the blow back from the regular grates.
Talk to your welding supplier and see who they carry. Most welding suppliers will carry stock for their customers so you can get quick delivery without having to pay shipping cost. They would also probably provide samples for you to try.
Either zero the radius correction (beam offset) if the part tolerance will allow it (holes will be larger and outside contour will be smaller) or have programmer find the small line segment or radius and fix it. One of the situations that can cause this is trying to cut an inside radius that is...
With the 5" lens your focal point location will be critical and have a very narrow window where the cut will be acceptable. While you can cut the 8 ga with the 5" lens it will just make life harder. I would move to the 7.5" and look at lower focal point. -1.9 is not low enough in my opinion...
The questions are too generalized to get specific answers. I am guessing that you are talking about "clean cutting" with hi pressure nitrogen. In my experience you would not use the same size nozzle across the board. In thin material 20-18 ga I sometimes used a 1.5mm (.060 inch) dia nozzle. I...
It has been several years and I don't remember. I don't know the Amada system so I don't know if waterbased would cause problems or not. You would have to ask Amada. I would talk to your welding supplier and see if they have other customers doing something like that. Unless the anti-spatter is...
