here i've attached an image of my design in which i am most concerned about the steam leakage from the encircled region...although now i am thinking on some other sealing and mag drive as well but thought that this image might help in better understanding of the problem...through this vessel i...
Also I have seen some uses of mag drive,in all such applications there is a coupling(mag) between the shafts but in our case, one of the shafts is inside the vessel and if we try to connect these two then apart from the air gap there will also be a metal sheet in between ,will it work in this...
thanks for replying...but if we consider the mag-drive, then, keeping in mind the high temperature inside the vessel, will the magnetic drive be equally efficient and i am also thinking whether its life would be affected due to prolonged exposure to the high temp...
hello everyone,
i am planning to use a bearing isolator in a pressure vessel having a high pressure steam of 50 bar,in that there will be a shaft rotating in the vessel.
can anybody please tell me that whether a bearing isolator can prevent the leakege of steam from that??

I want to use high pressure steam(50 bar, 280 degree cel.) in a reactor to mix with waste,
can we achieve the same effectivity as that of the steam with the mixture of inferior steam and pressurised air?
(There is a possibility that the steam might condense as it comes into contact with the air...
Thanks a lot komposites for providing the link.
It looked like some sort of "heavy duty autoclave" to me...is it so??
And moreover can it handle large volumes (about 1000 litres) of slurry with continuous stirring arrangement that circulates(mixes) super saturated steam with the slurry in that...
The slurry will mainly contain organic waste but it can contain practically anything (municipal solid waste). Actually i want to treat this waste hydro thermally and the waste we're talking about is in huge qty. And its not feasible to segregate it (although i know it'd have been better if it...
I want to prepare steam from a mixture of water and waste(slurry form). Actually i want to heat up the waste part in water(for further treatment) at the same time produce steam.
1. Is it feasible?
2. What'd be the effect of this mixing(impurity addition) on the steam formation, i know that the...
Can mag drive sustain its effectiveness in transmission at temp. As high as 320 degree cel.?
And apart from this can any other type of sealing solve the purpose?
I want to design a pressure vessel having pressure upto 250 bar and i want an impeller to be moved in that using a motor. Is this feasible to design, can any sealing prevent leakage from the shaft clearance?
