    Slurry Pump

I just want to know the following and any help here will be greatly appreciated. 1. Is sealing pressure(chamber pressure) on slurry pump always the discharge pressure? 2. If I am calculating the heat soak of a slurry seal; would the process temperature be the same as the sealing temperature? 3...

    Clamping Force of shaft collar

Thank you all for your posts. This is for a mechanical seal to be fitted vertically without using grub screw that damaging the sleeve. We used shrink disc before but very time consuming to fit. 54bar pressure is the sealing pressure. We have approximately 45 kN of axial force we are trying to...

    Clamping Force of shaft collar

Hi All, If I have a collar(cut into 3 pieces, each cut is threaded on one end and a hole on other end to hold the bolt) that I have to clamp to a shaft using 3X 14mm zinc plated high tensile bolts (14.9 grade). If I tightened the 3 bolts, what will be the clamping force of the collar to the...

    Approximate clamping force

How true is this approximation? If i have for instance a rectangle cross sectional clamp, then the approximate clamping force is the cross section area of the clamp multiply by 2X pi(3.1416) multiply by the ring recovery stress of the clamp approximately 200,000 kilopascals?

Clamping force of a collar(cut into 3 pieces)

If I have a collar(cut into 3 pieces) that I have to clamp to a shaft using 3X 14mm zinc plated high tensile bolts (14.9 grade), what will be the clamping force of the collar to the shaft(assuming preload of each bolt is 86 kN)?
