Hi Tomas,
thanks for your fast response.
The topic IFC is coming more and more important - keyword "BIM - Building Information Modeling".
Collaboration between architects and mechanical engineers ;-)
Generating a proper IFC-Format - sometimes we feel to be in the wrong movie ...

Hello,
collecting all dumb bodies in one part file and afterwards suppress unneeded bodies is one solution especially when working with only few bodies (e.g less 10).
Handling with numerous bodies is far from optimal as petulf mentioned.
Ronald, handling with a mimic part family and krx-file...
We've several Step-components imported to NX (native).
These parts are none-parametric (only stupid 3D-bodies) and each part has it's own size.
Is it possible to manage these parts via reuse library and spreadsheet-handling like other standard part nuts, bolts, etc. ?

Wolfgang
the mentioned document solved nearly all of my customizing problems.
Except the Quick Access Toolbar on top of the Windows - don't know which tbr- or dlx-file is responsible for the qat-design.

How to integrate journals, makros (with or without icons) into new ribbon groups as a "file based customizing".
Pre NX9, 10 we did this inside tbr-files like:
BUTTON Preview-Image
LABEL Preview-Image
BITMAP W:\ug_nx8\ugii\bitmaps\preview-picture.bmp
ACTION W:\ug_nx8\makros\create_preview.macro...
Hmm, better solution for us would be the "Part Family Save Directory".
The same path for "Part File Directory" and "Part Family Save Directory" (Reuse) will work of course, but all the parts will be saved then to Part Family Save Dir - that's not our intention.

Wolfgang
Hi John,
as far as I can see that's the perfect solution for our problem [smile]
Just one more question: inside the "Reuse Clone context" there's an option Part Name Management. How can I set a desired
Output Directory as default ?
Hello all,
we use some parts of the Siemens Machinary Library and own part families within Reuse Lib (NX8) - everything's OK so far.
Now we have the problem to create different lengths of some (Siemens-)profiles (Hot Rolled Beam steel..., IPA, DIN1025 ...).
It's nearly impossible to create...
