Client requires all Cat. D welded to be fully UT inspected. There are several nozzle which require reinforcement pads. The question is.. Is the inner repad reinforcement weld considered part of the Cat. D weld, or is just the nozzle to shell / head pressure...

I'm currently qualifying welders to welder procedure with the following variables
-A-516 70 (P1) (1/2" thk plate)
-SMAW (F4)
-3 postions (2G / 3G / 4G)
I plan on testing the welders on a 12" pc of plate. There will be approx. 3.5 inches of each position.
