Infiltration Basins - Contributing Drainage Area - Maryland

What is the allowable maximum drainage area for infiltration basins? I'm looking at the Virginia BMP Clearinghouse specs and they say 2 acres Maryland's manual is conflicting - it says no more than 5 acres in one section and then no more than 10 acres in another section. And of course I have...

    TR-55 - Runoff Curve Number

I agree with you gbam, I think just making sure you add in the factor of "could this be developed in the future" to the sections that might be grass now if the area's land use maps suggest anything with more impervious area than what you see to date.

    TR-55 - Runoff Curve Number

Hey guys, Question for you. when I use rational method, I'm used to just looking at the drainage area and visually determining what percentage of the land is residential vs. forested, vs. grass and coming up with a composite C value. But when we do RCN number sometimes I've seen where people...

    multiple flows to one outfall

That's the info I was looking for! Thanks so much! One more Question to you guys on this subject- what would you do without a computer program - like by solving by hand - how would you figure out cumulative peak flow for a post-development condition when the goal is to compare pre-development...

    multiple flows to one outfall

Peter, It was hydrocad but I guess I was asking a more general hydrology question - it's not proper methodology to just add them all up to say that's the flow that's coming into the outfall, is it? WE're not talking about volume, I could see adding up volumes but adding up flows oversimplifies...

    multiple flows to one outfall

Hello. I am looking at multiple ponds, some of which are interconnected but then at the end of the line I have like 3 or 4 outflows from those ponds going to one outfall so when I'm looking at how much water is being introduced to that single outfall how do I combine those flows? I can't simply...
