I am a certified welding inspector and I purchased (Leased) several SWPS's from AWS. Can I legally use these SWPS's when conducting a welder performance qualification test at a clients manufacturing facility?

I would like to qualify a WPS to AWS D1.1 in the as welded and PWHT condition with supplemental impacts.
A) 1" thick material A516 GR 70, all 3 coupons welded CJP with same essential variables.
B) 1st coupon 15" long welded in a 2G position with standard testing as welded.

Thanks for your response but either I am not explaining myself or you are not understanding, anyhow.... This is not to test the welder and there is no existing WPS. I am qualifying (TESTING) a coupon PQR (procedure qualification record) so I can write a WPS, NDT inspections are done after PWHT...

So Don56, I should use the slowest travel speed and post the max heat input from the PQR on the WPS which will give me more grace (higher heat input) as far as not exceeding the max heat input in production, am I understanding correctly??

We have a welding procedure (FCAW) qualified on plate CJP to ASME sec IX for welding P1 groups 1 & 2 materials.
Can a WPS qualified on plate CJP to ASME sec IX be used to weld tubular TYK joints?
