    Thermal-structural Analysis in Ansys

Hello Orel, My model consists of coli, shell and beam/link elements. I used the command "LDREAD, Lab, LSTEP, SBSTEP, TIME, KIMG, Fname, Ext," using different values for KIMG (0, 1, and 2). In all cases only the shell element results were transferred as body loads on the elements (not nodal...

    Thermal-structural Analysis in Ansys

Thanks for your reply. In fact I use GUI, I don't use the batch (command method). In the GUI, I select Define Loads> apply> structural> Temperature> from therm Analy> then I select the load step and the file name and extension (Therm.rst). I think this is equivalent to LDREAD, TEMP, 1, 1, ...

    Thermal-structural Analysis in Ansys

I performed thermal analysis. I checked the results and found them as expected. I saved the file with a new name, then I converted the thermal elements to structural ones. Finally, I applied temperature loads from thermal analysis, by selecting the thermal file.rst. The problem that when I list...

SAP2000: Modeling Roof and Floor in Building (SMRF)

I meant to merge all the joints of the structure, not the roof only. But this problem usually happens when you import part of the structure from other file or from the sap existing files. Such as when you import spherical dome to existing cylindrical tank. In that case the two parts may not not...

    Thermal Analysis in Ansys

I'm performing a thermal analysis for a structure that consists of solid, shell and bar elements. I want to get the temperature distribution through all the elements to utilize that as load for a structural analysis. I'm using elements Solid 70, shell 131, and link 33 for the thermal analysis...

SAP2000: Modeling Roof and Floor in Building (SMRF)

I ran your model, and I see all beams deform well. Before I ran it I merged all the joints. I don’t know if that did difference or not, but you can try it. On the menu bar, go to Edit, select edit points, then select merge joints. Finally enter a small value (for example 0.01). I hope this will help

How can I make different load cases in Ansys?

Thank you very much for your reply. I'm using MAPDL. I knew how to define different load steps and cases. Also I knew how to perform operations on them. Regards

How can I make different load cases in Ansys?

I want to know how can I define different load steps in Ansys? Also, I want to know how can I make different load cases and get the results from each case separately or from combinations of them? Thanks.

    Thermal gradient in Ansys

This is the first time to perform thermal analysis in Ansys. I want to make thermal gradient on solid 70 elements. For example, the temp. on the top of the elements is known to be 60 and the temp. on the bottom of the elements is 20. To my knowledge, I'll apply boundary condition (Temp.) on...
