Reinforced Masonry CMU wall with SBEDS

I have to designed an enclosed control room (15') to withstand a 3psi load with a duration of 40ms. After entering my inputs for a masonry wall with #5 bar in every cell filled with grout the program tells me it works (incident angle < 2 degrees). My gut tells me this is inadequate. Anyone...

    W14 Gages

Per the AISC, members W14x145 - W14x730 have a 3 - 7 1/2 - 3 workable gage. Does this indicate the spacing of 4 bolts on the flange? Also, are you required to use 4 bolts? If not, what gage do I use? Thanks,

Shims under a tall vertical vessel

I cant use leveling nuts since they only want 1.5 inches of grout. There will be 24 anchor bolts. Seismic shear is 10 kips with 6000 kip ft moment. Wind has 70 kips shear with 9000 kip ft moment

Shims under a tall vertical vessel

Hi, I have a 180 foot stack, with total vertical load of 350 kips. There is a 10 inch grout circle around the anchor bolts and the vessel is 15 feet in diameter. My question is how to design the shim plates to level it. Do I put them midspan of the bolts or on each side of the bolt? Thanks,

    column unbraced length

Suppose I have a column 30 feet with a beam coming in at 15 feet with a knee brace 5 feet down connected to beam from the column. Would my unbraced length for the column be 10 or 15 feet? Thanks
