Cause of a possible false Chlorine residual ?

We use a Hach DR2010 Spectrophotometer with Accuvacs. The sample turned pink as soon as I used the accuvac on it. We did numerous samples with fairly consistent results.Still have not determine why.

Cause of a possible false Chlorine residual ?

Good Morning, I need help determining what if anything could be giving us a false Cl2 residual. To make a long story short, we have water leaking into the basement of our pump house. We believe this to be ground water however when I tested it for a residual I got a fairly consistent reading of...

What is the proper formula to use to calculate water meter efficiency on a test bench ?

ok, I think I was doing it wrong. It seems the formula is (tank reading/actual meter reading)x100 to get percentage ? I need the formula so I can do more than one in the future plus it's hard to use the percentage chart on the sight glass on low flow tests. It takes forever so we use the auto...

What is the proper formula to use to calculate water meter efficiency on a test bench ?

Also just to add I came up with .97821553 for the first 1/4 gpm test but I am not sure I calculated it correctly and if I did then which digits would be significant in this test ? In other words would I round to 98% or 97.8% ? Thank you

What is the proper formula to use to calculate water meter efficiency on a test bench ?

Hi, The title pretty much says it. I am using a Ford Akron test bench for the first time. I got my readings but not sure what formula to use to calculate the meter efficiency ? I'm not looking for the answer but want to learn how to calculate the answer myself. I even called Ford Customer...

    Water Main Valve placement question.

Thanks for the replies. I won't have my results for a few more weeks. The test was nothing like the practice tests or study materials.

    Water Main Valve placement question.

ok Thanks. I have to agree with you about the Sacramento book. I ordered that course first and got half way through it and did not like the way it was laid out. I found the AWWA Books to be much better. I only regret not buying a newer edition of the water Transmission and Distribution but I...

    Water Main Valve placement question.

I am taking the level 3 Operator cert test tomorrow and these practices tests are driving me nuts. I did my homework and studied very hard but I keep running into conflicting questions. The Question is the same in two editions of the AWWA Operator Certification Study Guide. One is the 5th...

Need help with a Hydraulics Water Question

I am taking the operator cert level 3. I hope the questions are more specific than in the Practice books. They are loaded with typos besides and what is scary is they are co written by ABC who also writes the test.

Need help with a Hydraulics Water Question

Ok. Thank for the help. I get how the author can justify the answer but when I sit down Friday for my test and run into a similar question how can I tell if that is how I should determine whether to apply significant digits rule or not ? Or will it be basically a lucky Guess ? I suppose I could...

Need help with a Hydraulics Water Question

OK... Every number given in the question has 2 or less significant digits: 10...1 significant digit 130...2 sig digs 2.5...2 sig digs So, we are limited to 2 significant digits for this question. If we were to write 1170 with 2 significant digits, it would be 1200.That part I get...

Need help with a Hydraulics Water Question

So based on the information given in the question should I have arrived at the book answer ? I'm not seeing it. I just don't want to mistake this on the test.

Need help with a Hydraulics Water Question

Hello. I am new to the forum. I need help with a question I cannot understand the answer to. Just a quick background. I am a Class3 Water Distribution Operator(or will be if I pass my test). My test is this Friday and I have prepared for it by reading every available AWWA book, Taking online...
