You can create a graph result. From the graph you can find the damping.
I think this link may be helpful.

from the graph result.
If you already have a damping coefficient you can give that input for the frequency response analysis under subcase parameters.

I am not sure about this problem. But I feel that the problem could be due to the following reason. Inertial loads applies to the total system. So I doubt you can give spatially varying loads for inertial loads. Do you want a load which vary spatially or which vary according to 'time' ...
In the position option (above the vonmises stress button in the picture) select all the layers and then click on apply. Let me know if the problem solved.

you cannot connect fluid elements and solid elements via node merging in patran. it will show error while analysing. i.e, both solid and fluid element should not share the same node.

Is that possible at all.............!!! REBE2 can have only one independent node. How can we create the entire connection like that. If we are creating a centre node and attaching all the other nodes its okay. But I feel that is not the correct way. Guide me If I am wrong.
You can try element extruding. And then if you want you can delete one set of elements at the bottom if you want to maintain a gap between the shell and solid.

ya.. that will not move. That shows the body in it's undeformed condition. It is for your reference. One shows the body without any deformation and the other shows how it will deform for the specified loading.
If you don't want to see the undeformed body you can avoid it by uncheking the show...
For my knowledge,
In normal case the font colour automatically becomes black when you change the background colour into white.
Try refreshing the display and check whether the problem persists.

Hello
Good Morning
Node merging was not a problem. But while running it shows error. It seems like fluid elements can't be attached to structural elements.
The following is the error showing in F06,
USER FATAL MESSAGE 5419 (MODGM2)
STRUCTURAL ELEMENT QUAD4, ID = 1, REFERENCES FLUID...
Hello compositecurves,
But how can we give the connection between fluid element(hex elements and the side wall) ?
Node connection or any other connection. Node connection seems to be difficult since it is a big structure, so there will be so many nodes. And if I didn't connect it with...
Hai compsite curves,
Greetings for the day.
Thank you for the reply.
I have already applied this variable pressure by using spatial fields PCL function. That is for the stress analysis. Now that I want to do the MODAL analysis. This pressures won't be taken into account for modal analysis. But...
