In this case the smaller thickness is the jacket thickness at 4mm. Would you say that the weld shown in the picture above satisfies the code statement you are citing?
We are building an ASME vessel with half-pipe jacket for cooling. Since it is a cyclic design, the weld between the jacket (4 mm thk) and the shell (16 mm thk) must be a full penetration weld. According to ASME code, can the weld shown below be considered a full-penetration fillet weld?
