OK, so I created a Matlab script that is able to create the output I want. I now have a table of values that contains element number and its corresponding value that I want to display. How can I import this data into ABAQUS to be viewed? My data is simply a 2 column excel spreadsheet
Element #...
Hello,
I have a question regarding custom outputs in ABAQUS,and I'm hoping someone can steer me in the right direction!
I'm trying to create and display an output that takes into account each element's modulus and density. The idea is to, for each element, display its strain energy density...
Hi, I've got a knee model with plenty of parts that "should" be in contact. I'm trying to use the GUI "Find Contact Pair" option, but it tells me that no candidates can be found. I've broadened the search criteria, but no avail. There should be PLENTY of potential contact pairs. Any ideas as to...
Ok, so I checked my contact behavior, and I do, in fact, have normal behavior defined. The error message I'm getting is "Node 14134 Instance Part-1-1 is common between the contact pair (zone1_with_zone2, zone2_with_zone1). No constraint is formed for this node." I get this message for a...
Hmm.. Probably not.. How can I check/do that? And is it problematic to select the entire surface when extending my zones. For example, I know my femoral cartilage will only slide along the superior portion of my meniscus, yet I'm selecting the entire surface of the meniscus as a contact zone...
corus - Yes, I'm using surface to surface contact. This one issue of surface extension seems to be my only fault right now. I've isolated every change I've made to my model recently, and everything runs as it should. But once I start manipulating my contact zones...it's game over, folks.
Hello,
I'm having a bit of difficulty creating surface constraints in ABAQUS. Currently, I have an imported mesh of a knee generated from ScanIP. I set up contacts in ScanIP, and so when I import it, ABAQUS recognizes the contact nodes from the original mesh. However, I'll be putting a load at...
IceBreakerSours:
Thank you for the honest and perhaps a bit rude response. My question was to simply better understand what attachment constraints might be most appropriate here. The time issue is for the attachments and the attachments alone. I, in fact, have 2+ years to work on this. I admit...
Hi,
I'm modeling a knee and having a bit of difficulty with setting up my attachments. Using Simpleware, I've created the finite element model and duplicated the nodes at every contact surface in order to develop my constraints through ABAQUS. I'm not entirely sure as to which attachment method...
