Effect of unbalance currents on transformers & generator

-ve sequence current produce reverse rotating MF in stator, that produce double frequency current in rotor. thus increased eddy current losses, hence increases heat. zero sequence current is in phase, thus trap in delta winding and produce effect on grounding transformer. now wanna now what...

Effect of unbalance currents on transformers & generator

hello everybody........... i wanna know about the effects of zero and negative sequence currents in transformer as well as in generator???

shortening of one of transformer load (fault propagates at transformer pri )

hello ENGINEERS i have some query about protection breakers. two days ago, in plant during normal operation, one of the load at 380V bus (heater) shorted. heater has MCB for its protection. that 380V bus is fed from 6.3KV through step down transformer. that transformer has breaker at both...

    electrical power during grid connection

i'm looking to find an answer about grid connection of nuclear power plant. in over plant, there is limit for thermal power 45 MW (16 MWe) whenever generator connected to grid. why we need that minimum power??? is this due to reverse power????

reason for connecting (short) pump inlet & outlet

dear JJPellin! thumbs up for you! bravo

    pump understanding

dear racookpe1978 it is called pressure balancing line as there is huge pressure difference between suction & discharge. so there will be thrust on pump impeller. to mitigate thrust, this protection applied. but i'm not understanding how it can cope with that thrust.

    pump understanding

dear byrdj centrifugal multistage pump of nuclear safety class. there are separate sealing line. this is simple connection from pump suction side to discharging side.

    pump understanding

but here one of my colleague told it is for pump protection against thrust due to huge pressure difference. Although, he failed to give convening argument. the line i'm talking about is passing over the pump and directly connected suction & discharge line, how i could be used for priming of...

reason for connecting (short) pump inlet & outlet

a line of small diameter (comparing to suction & discharge lines) used. it connect the suction line directly to discharge line over the pump.

    pump understanding

charging pump and other safety pumps having huge pressure difference across them have inlet and outlet connect via small pipe (short). could anybody here please guide me why we have that line????? Regards

reason for connecting (short) pump inlet & outlet

hello mechanical engineers!!! I'm an Electrical professional working at power plant where i have to deal with mechanical equipment too, like pumps, HX etc.... here in plant there a pump producing high pressure, around 20MPa while suction pressure is only 0.2 MPa. thus there is 19.8 MPa delta...
