Thank you Ashtree and LiitleInch for your kind suggestions.
Here is what I did to estimate the flowrate. This is an existing line in an existing plant.
We were using Liquid nitrogen at 9 kg/cm2g to purge a reactor but as this vessel is not designed for more than 8 kg/cm2g we have decided to...
@EmmanuelTop If the question is wrong or you require more inputs, do tell mate. I think I will have to finalize flow requirement and then size it accordingly
Hello Experts,
In plant we have 1.5 inch liquid nitrogen line with pressure 9 barg. I want to reduce that pressure upto 6 barg using a pressure reducing valve. Vendor will require the minimum and maximum flow through PRV, how do I calculate it?
Any spreadsheets will be highly appreciated.
We have an empty tank of 4 m3 volume. Height = Dia = 1.6 m.
Tank has a vent of size 1 inch. Tank doesn't have any PSV.
Now, we are going to use this tank for storing a chemical X.
In case of external fire scenario, I want to check if this 1 inch vent size is suitable for venting the vapors...
Thanks @LittleInch.
I agree that I need to be specific but the reason I asked it here is that Google is a friend but it gives so many options, here with you all experts I can get specific and precise advice.
Thanks for the link anyways.
@ LittleInch : That is always an easier option but I want to know how do I approach the basic calculations for any vacuum system. I would appreciate if anyone explains with examples or give some references.
I need to design vacuum pump for solvent recovery. I am a beginner in this field.
How does one approach design vacuum pumps? Can someone explain the basic details of vacuum operations with reference to certain numerical calculations?
please explain the significance of terms like :
1. mAx Vacuum...
Hey GUys EdStainless, zdas04, David Simpson, MortenA,
Can Someone actually explain how to make use of this concept and what significance it has with some Numerical Examples?
If you have any sums or numericals where this concept is used, please share it.
Hello everyone,
Can someone explain the use of the term Nm3/hr for calculating air flow rate?
When to use it and when to not while sizing equipment like scrubbers, fans, blowers etc?
I see it used in many design problems. Plz explain the basics.
Hi,
I wanted to know how do I enable email notifications here on eng-tips.com for all the threads under a specific topic.
Suppose I want to subscribe Chemical Plant Design and Operations.
Please help.
