As SBUSH says you probably need to lower your coag dose and may not need poly. This is a direct filtration situation. Although I agree that normal jar testing procedures are probably useless it would be useful to dose low doses of coagulant (<1m/l as Al3+ or equivalent) and look for pinhead...
Does anyone have any experience of solids load (mg/l of solids) derived from Algae in Potable Water Plant supplies. I am looking for a solids load predictor based on cell count or Chlorophyl A value.
Is the solids load heavily dependant on type of Algae or is there a general correlation...
This is certainly a contentious point. Industries dont even standardise. Try the water industry where different neighbouring authorities/companies use different standards.
Can't a physical switch be used? However, people would then argue whether it was up/down or left/right.
Why not have...
Thanks Brian, the system is very slow, up to 10 x 150m2 filters which take a long time to register any change in level. The period of the incoming flow from the outlet of the upstream filter plant is long as is the second plants response which I believe contributes to the instability. The flow...
Does anyone have experience of two stage filter flow/level control where control on second stage is unstable.
Control basis is inlet distribution channel level control cascading to common filter outlet flow control (this is not a physical hydraulic split).
I am looking for some advice on how...
Have u ever heard of the UK WRc report TR189, this gives predictions for solids production and guidance on design and operation of sludge thickeners.
If u cant find a copy let me know
Peristaltic positive displacement pumps should handle the job fine.
Materials as per previous post.
Be careful with your dosing lines as the slurry is very abbrasive. We are installing PVC pipes with SS bends on the project I am currently commissioning.
