Hi
regulation require fireproof (15min @ 2000f) lines and fittings in designated firezones (engine compartment). Does anyone knows if aluminum alloy fittings are accepted by the FAA?
Thanks for info!

Is it possible to define loads af a function of the deformation of the model? In my case I need to model gyroscopic loads of the propeller on the enginemount.
The loads are dependent of the angular velocity of the deformation, and are directed in a 90 deg. phase to the deformation.
I use a concentrated mass (conm2) in my patran model. I use the lumped option. Now I have to fill in:
-mass (no problem)
-mass orientation ( is that the orientation of the gravity vector?)
- Inertia 1,1 1,2 etc. Is I(1,1)=Ixx, I(2,2)=Iyy, I(3,3)=Izz
Could someone please help me with de mass...
Thanx for your replies!
I was somewhat unclear about the elements I use. I started out with beam element, but I got the tip to use rods, because the tubes in the structure are basically not designed to carry lateral loads. What will be the differences in a static and normal modes analysis?
Most of the time I get the following messsage in my nastran (.f06) output file : (edited)

I have to model a truss and perform a dynamic a analysis in nastran/patran. Since the real structure is built from metal tubes welded together, I will use bar-elements for (almost) all structural elements.
My question: Does it make any difference whether I use one bar-element for an entire...
