forcing gas flow through the branch line

Hello , I'm working on a gas plant and there's a place where there's a main gas header and then there's a branch line that takes off from the main header which is the same size as the main header but only 30% flow is required to go through the branch line and 70% through the main header. Would...

    Blowdown for compressor restart

Hello All , I have question regarding the reciprocating compressor restart upon shutdown . Upto how much pressure should I blowdown the package so that the compressor can be re-started without any problem . Blow down is preffered over settle out ........ Thx !

Vapor pressure and boiling point of liquid mixture

Hello Everyone , I want to calculate the vapor pressure of a liquid hydrocarbon mixture and it's boiling point . Just wondering what equations should I use ? Right now I'm using Raoult's and clausius equations for VP but the result doesn't seems right . I have mole fractions and all the other...

    relief temperature

Hello everybody , In a psv sized for blocked flow case(gases)relief temp is equal to the operating temp but if the pipe and also a close by vessel catches fire what would be the relief temp in that case . Should i use amonton's law to calculate the relief temperature. Thx !!

    PSV relief header sizing

Hello Everyone , I'm trying to size a relief header to which three PSVs are connected on a gas compression package . I'm using the max capacity of the largest PSV (MMSCFD) and sizing the header for 0.7 Mach velocity . Should I use the simple flow rate equation Q=V*A to find the pipe dia. or...
