    Bearing failure at 36,000 RPM

    We trashed a thermomolecular vacuum pump this weekend (Leybold Turbovac 1000C). They operate at 36,000 RMP. We had an apparent bearing failure and there is not a blade left on the shaft. I have no experience in condition monitoring at this speed. I'm not sure what the P-F curve would look like...
