What is the significance of Random Access Channel (RACH) in LTE. I know it is used for initial contact and short data transmission but cant Physical Shared Channel be used for the same? Also RACH, due to the preamble requires a lot of processing, so whats the overall advantage we get by it?
What are the different channel types in LTE technology? Why do we have a physical channel and the other two (logical and transport) channels? Does that mean that only the physical channel is actually present and the other two are not physically existent? If so then can someone please explain...
