I am trying to design these parts in solidworks.
The "base" of the scroll is made by creating a circle with a spiral.
I made the spiral have a 10mm pitch and 6.5 rotations.
Now when I am designing the parts that mate to it "chuck clamps" I'm not sure how to create the thread cuts...

The Scroll Mechanism is a great idea and looks really neat. I would assume these would need to be milled or cast parts. I am going to look into the feasibility of using this method.
