Hi guys,
In this situation, where we have a plate being welded along the radius of an SHS, which dimension would you use as calculation throat, to assess the weld strength?
Would you consider a1? a2? or something different?
Thank you.
HI all,
Thank you for the answers. Below is a sketch of the solution that I´m currently pursuing, with cold rolled beams C250x70x2.5 spaced of 625mm.
@JoelTXCive the wall is 400mm thick. I don't think it will be possible to create a "shelf" where the beam would be supported. The shear must...
Hi,
There´s no cutting granite operator. This is a rehabilitation and they will just anchor the beams to the wall, and execute the floor with standard materials (osb, thermal insulation etc)
Hi all,
I'm designing a steel deck for a floor, with a group of simple supported beams, that will be connected at each end to a masonry wall made of granite (figure below). I´m trying to determine the number of anchor bolts that it will be required on the connection to the wall, but I'm having...
Hi thanks a lot for the answer. So i may only use the shear key resistance. But i can always account for the friction created right?
Can you elaborate on the second method that you described? English is not my first language and i did not understand it very well.
Thanks a lot.
Greetings all,
I need to design a base plate connection for a column that is subject to high values of shear. I´m having trouble finding a reasonable solution by only accounting for friction+shear on anchor bolts. For that reason i will need to use a shear key welded to the base plate in order...
