Selection/Sketch Scene Bar changes inside sketch

Sometimes inside a sketch i get the "Selection Scene Bar" instead of the "Sketch Scene Bar". I am not sure when exactly it happens (maybe if the sketch is fully constraint or not) but i found no option to force it to always be the "Sketch Scene Bar". Any workaround on this? NX2306 Kind regards

Is there is a proper standard for designing choosing and straight coupling splines?

Yes involute is the ideal spline form but requires special tooling to cut, that's why it's not as common especially for coupling splines. However it's very common in gear teeth.

Is there is a proper standard for designing choosing and straight coupling splines?

Yes it's done on mass production with this knurling machine since you need different dies depending on the tooth size: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJhCy5VH7 BS 2059:1953 does indeed cover serrated splines of the same profile ( https://idoc.pub/documents/bs-2059-1953-en5k7j396xno )

Is there is a proper standard for designing choosing and straight coupling splines?

Here's the exact type of this spline. I quickly modeled it. Attached step file. https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=b83c8660-8bbd-4a97-981d-a1b3271b66f3&file=spline_nx.stp

Is there is a proper standard for designing choosing and straight coupling splines?

Sorry but both of those are not this type. J499 is parallel sides and 510206 involute splines. The ones i am talking about are serrated splines cut with a standard lathe cutting tool (usually 90 degrees but could be any angle you want technically if you match the coupling) See the difference...

Is there is a proper standard for designing choosing and straight coupling splines?

Thanks for the replies but i am actually looking for specific info on serrated splines only. Seems most are cut using 90 degree V cutter, but i've encountered some really weird ones in the field, 74 degrees or so from what i remember and some uncommon shaft size.

Is there is a proper standard for designing choosing and straight coupling splines?

Commonly used in vehicle transmission input shaft and axle shafts for example. Shown below both internal and external types.

Any way to (merge these 2 faces)/(delete reduntant edges) in Sychronous modelling

Hello and thanks for the replies. I have cutout this section and uploaded as a simple body (aka it has parameters removed; either way the model i work on doesn't have them either) @JohnRBaker: I've gave this a try with both options and it gives me an error message. @NutAce: Uploaded @Toost...

Any way to (merge these 2 faces)/(delete reduntant edges) in Sychronous modelling

This is a very basic example of such an issue where the defining spline has 2 redundant points or you could say split in 2 (i believe it originated from AutoCAD) but previous history is not available so there is no way to fix the spline other than re-creating the feature. Is there a tool in...

Siemens NX causing secondary screen to go black

EDIT 3: FOUND THE SOLUTION (by accident). Apparently (f*cking) WIN10 introduced a mode called "3D display mode" and is enabled by default (i never seen this option before) causing the issue since the GPU will send a "3D signal" to the monitor connected via the EDID passthrough. This is because...

Siemens NX causing secondary screen to go black

I have a very very weird issue and i'm trying to see what is causing it. So basically i'm running a system with a 5700XT, 19.12.2 drivers, win10 1909 and 2 displays (1x 1440p 10bit freesync over DP, + 1x 1080p 8bit over HDMI). Second (aka the 1080p) monitor is run through an EDID emulator...

Fix distance between polygon faces/nodes so that resultant displacement is equal

Update 2: Ok i've sorted it out:p The elements are correct, the issue was that when i was unchecking the loads in NX it basically hides them, it doesn't disable them, and i had several test loads which made the results you see in my previous post. Also i found out how to set elements with...

Fix distance between polygon faces/nodes so that resultant displacement is equal

Update: So i found this video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWHoLZpz7RM )that shows how to make a RBE connection and followed similar steps and ended up with this with NO LOADS: My steps are: 1)Create new nodes at the center of the holes i want to attach 2)Create RBE2 connections between...

Fix distance between polygon faces/nodes so that resultant displacement is equal

Thanks a lot i will do my research and find out how to achieve this now you told me the way:)

Fix distance between polygon faces/nodes so that resultant displacement is equal

Hello. I am a little new to FEA, and i'm having an issue in finding a way to set up a constraint how i want to. So here is this bracket There are 2 pin constrains in the bottom holes and a force applied perpendicularly to the 2 holes above. I can do a mesh and resolve the problem, no worries...

Is this really a custom (non-standardised) spline design? (actual 3D scan included)

Hello guys. In the past i was trying to reverse-engineer a spline to use with some custom pulleys, and i couldn't get a standardised spline design to work. I was certain it was an involute spline but turns out it's not. I've checked ISO, BSI, JIS, DIN nothing worked. In the end i had my...
