    Dear TVP ; The part is an automotive part we've analysed. It also includes Cu2 : 0.5 Pb 0.04 Cr 0.195 Ti 0.030 Ni : 0.019 It indeed leads to 6056 only for the Zn. Thanks anyway

    Could anyone help me with this composition Al 97% Cu 0.4% Mg 0.7% Si 0.8% Mn 0.5% Fe 0.22% Zn 0.04% It seemed to be a 6082 alloy but the Cu is to high for this alloy. Anyone got a clue?

    measuring stress in a gear

    Any one has any experience with measuring stresses in the tooth foothradius of a gear while gear is being tested on a electric pulsator-rig? Gear is modulus 2.5! Possible methods are strain-gauges, ESPI ... Other methods ??
