Hello,
I'm trying to measure the projected area of a CATPART with respect to the three planes of the absolute reference system. Does anyone know how can that be done with a macro ?
I know how to measure the volume and the wet surface with SPA workbench but not the projected surface...
Thanks !
Actually I have found the reason why I couldn't do that easily :
http://simulatemore.mscsoftware.com/properly-applying-loads-to-finite-elements-msc-nastran/
Do you know if there is any other way to find this distribution (using another card to define the distributed load or something like that) ?
Hello,
I think that this make no sense because the force in the BDF is one order of magnitude higher than the Max force I applied (3000N). The first image show the force per line (I used a Distributed Load).
If I make the numbers as you said, I do not obtain the same results that there are...
Hello everyone,
I would like to apply a variable distributed load to an edge of my model, something like this :
When I do the BDF the force is moved to the nodes but the problem is that values are not coherent at all :
If I want to make my own BDF not using Patran, how can I find this...
Hello everyone,
Does anyone know how can I obtain the equation of the buckling coefficients for a composite plate ?. I want to know the function of this kind of chart :
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to obtain the strains from a model. I request the "E" variable into the .INP in order to do so but what I found into the ODB is the "LE" (logarithmic strain).
Does anyone knows why? Is there anyway to change between them mathematically?
I have my beam that should have a moment of 7.5e3 et now I obtain 6.0e3 in FEM. Does anyone knows what's happening?
I have already checked the reference system, the point and lever-arm are both OK...
Hello,
I’m trying to find the free body loads of a beam but when I do a simple verification the results are not OK.
What I obtain from hand-made calculs are not the same as FEM show me.
For example, I should obtain a moment of 5.0E3 and in FEM I obtain 4.385E3.
why?
Hello everyone,
I'm looking for the equivalent to a Nastran's RBE3 in Abaqus. As far as I know the 'Distributing Coupling' should be the same but actually what I obtain is only a distribution of the applied load in the master node to the slaves nodes (and that was not supposed to happen with...
Actually, just to see what's happening I've made a quite simple model: a box with an applied load in one side and a encastre in the other one.
I cut the box just in the middle, I plot the FreeBody Loads by components and, as expected, I see the resultant load in one of the axes that corresponds...
Thaks for you help StefCon!
Yes, I'm using a free cut with a plane and as you said it's normal to find some errors in the results. The problem here is that I'm finding errors one order of magnitude (even two!) higher or lower so something strange is happening...
Hello everyone,
I'm having some troubles with the Abaqus' FreeBody tool. When I cut my model, the value of the resultant force in the section change if I change the cutting angle and it shouldn't.
Why is this happening?
No, it doesn't work. This one neither :
*Output, field
*Element Output, elset=foo_set,directions=yes
E,
The error message when I open the ODB into the viewer or CAE (if I try to plot the deformed shape) :
There is no valid step data available on the database. If the analysis is running...
The analysis did finish if I use this code (so there is no problem with it):
*Output, Field,variable=preselect
*Element Output, elset=foo_set
But when I try to generate a report it shows the whole model and this is not normal because I have already specified the "*Element Output" keyword. I...
Actually if I use your code,IceBreakerSours, the result is that when I import the ODB into the Abaqus CAE I get a message like that: "there is no valid step data available..."
