Thank you for your reply.
Yes it would be my intent for most of the chemical reaction to occur in the tank. Do you know where I could find data for the chemical reaction rates? Not having much luck finding reaction rate data so far.
I am looking to size a stirred tank with an inlet stream of brine containing CaCl2 impurity and another inlet stream with Na2CO3 used to precipitate all or most (>99%) of the calcium out as CaCO3. Can a rough estimate of the volume of the stirred tank be made without experimental data and if so...
Hi, I have to design brine treatment tanks for a chlorine production plant. Na2CO3 will be added in the first tank to precipitate out calcium and NaOH will be added in the second tank to precipitate out magnesium. I was wondering if there was any way to calculate a rough estimate of the size of...
But could you work out the size of one required for a specific process (known flow rates, conditions etc.), so then you'd know to buy one at least that size?
Although the links in this thread ( http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=390704 ) provide guidelines for the design of a brine maker or saturator I was wondering if someone could provide a methodology for sizing the brine maker
Thanks, David
