    GD&T/Tooling Balls

powerhound, Thanks for the feedback, I was originally pointing towards the hole rather than the ball, but that makes more sense to just to have it on the ball itself since it matches with the function. I assume the the ".687" reference will have to change to a basic dimension?

Hello All, I have a question about GD&T related to tooling balls, in particular the reference dimensions to the center of the tooling ball; in the case attached should these be reference of basic dimensions? Gd&t and model based (MBD) drawing

Gerres, I agree with pylfrm, I think the "profile of a line" should be removed. I also think No. 4 is most accurate for MBD, I would just remove the "Edges" with the "profile of a line" and keep the surfaces callout. Datum C can also have a "filled" circle at the end of the leader to callout on...

    Drafting Compound Angles

pylfrm, Thanks for the information and feedback. Yes of course, the basic angle will be added and the "1.780" was not true and just a representation from the real drawing.

    Drafting Compound Angles

pylfrm, Thanks for the information, good points on dimension ".235" and the datum feature precedence. Datum feature A does in fact contact a mounting surface and is located by two pins. As for dimensioning the relationship for the toleranced surface see attachment, is this the direction you...

    Drafting Compound Angles

TheTick, thanks for the feedback, yes I agree it is not truly a compound angle my mistake. I'm trying to verify if this is the proper way to define this type of angle.
